Each motif began as original hand-drawn illustrations found in our silk scarf designs, before being rendered on ancient madder silk, a centuries-old printing tradition prized for its depth of colour and its distinctive soft, chalky hand. The result is a surface that looks almost powdered and feels like suede to the touch, with rich, muted tones that only grow more characterful with wear.
 
Made in Italy using the seven-fold method, the tie is shaped from a single generous square of silk folded seven times over itself, with no lining. It’s a rare and labour-intensive construction that gives the tie natural weight, a fuller drape, and a knot that sits with quiet confidence. At 8.5cm, the blade strikes a classic, balanced width suited to both tailored suiting and a relaxed open jacket.
